Carmela Rea is the founder and CEO of EggFund. Three miscarriages, failed IVF, a disappearing egg donor, and $80K of life savings led Carmela to start EggFund. EggFund helps the 1 in 8 Americans with infertility afford their dream of having a family, by helping them secure financing for fertility treatments, adoption, and surrogacy. Prior to starting EggFund, Carmela was co-President of a leading global art media group. Her love for fine art leads her to leave an early career in finance to secure a Master’s Degree in Visual Arts Management. From there, Carmela had a successful 20-year career in the international art world. She is a pioneer in bringing the art world online, having created and sold products to help renowned art galleries, auction houses, and museums, internationally connect with more art lovers and buyers. After starting EggFund, Carmela found out she was pregnant, at age 46. The doctors call it a “spontaneous pregnancy”. She calls it a miracle. She resides in New York City with her daughter, Elisabeth, and her husband Geoff.
